Clean up crews are the tiny workforce that keeps your bioactive enclosures healthy and low-maintenance. At Ryza Exotics, we combine carefully selected isopods and springtails so your reptiles, amphibians, or inverts enjoy stable, self-sustaining habitats. These detritivores break down waste, leftover food, and mold before it can harm your animals or ruin your display. When you introduce Clean up crews correctly, they aerate the substrate, recycle nutrients into live plants, and reduce the need for deep cleanings. Our Chicago-based team tests each culture for vigor and consistency, then ships fast so your cleanup team arrives active and ready to work. Build a thriving ecosystem that looks fresher, smells cleaner, and functions more like nature.

Granulatum IsopodArmadillidium granulatum is a Mediterranean species, not a tropical one treating it like a high-humidity Cubaris causes mold and breeding problems. Keep it on the drier side with good cross-ventilation and one moist corner (up to 80% RH) for clean molts. It reproduces sexually rather than by parthenogenesis, so both males and females are needed to establish a breeding colony.
